The Curious Incident of The Dog in the Night-Time

The book was a story written in a first-person perspective of Christopher Boone, investigating the death of his neighbor's pet poodle. The protagonist appears to suffer some form of autism spectrum disorder, but was not clarified in the book. Instead of finding out who killed the dog, Christopher's investigation revealed secrets about his family and his neighbor, including the supposed death of his mother.

Haddon explained that the book was not about specific disorder, it was "...about difference, about being an outsider, about seeing the world in a surprising and revealing way." To me, the book offers a general idea on how people suffering from autism or Asperger syndrome think and feel. In their minds, they feel like outsiders, mainly because the public view them as outsiders, which is unfair. In a way, it helped me to understand these people better and see them in a different light.
