Our proud Malaysia author Tan Twan Eng's second book The Garden of Evening Mists was shortlisted for the Walter Scott Prize for historical fiction!!
I'm so proud that Tan was shortlisted for another prize. It's not something that we get to see often from our local authors. Tan will be up against some tough competition, especially from Hilary Mantel's Bring Up The Bodies as the book already won the 2012 Man Booker Prize, in which The Garden of Evening Mists was also shortlisted, and the 2012 Costa Book of the Year. Even so, having already won one prize and shortlisted in two is definitely something to brag about.
The winner will be announced on 14 June 2013.
