True to what I originally planned, I was being careful of what to buy. I was tempted to grab a few more, but I kept reminding myself of all those books from last year. And I'm still one or two books away before I can start reading them. Despite the excruciating self-control, I did enjoy myself at the sale.
I arrived just after 9.30 am on the first day of the sale. Already there was a long queue of anxious people waiting to get in. Many of them were carrying large Ikea bags, shopping trolleys and huge luggage. Seeing the luggage, for a moment I thought we were lining up at the airport waiting to board our plane.
Finally at 10am, we started to walk in. The hall was as large as I imagined when I first saw those photos on the Internet.
As I was alone, I took my time walking around, browsing, choosing and rethinking about what to buy. I was also able to meet with a friend face-to-face for the first time.
I bought six books that day. The rest were bought on 15 Oct when I revisited the sale with a colleague.
So the plan now is to (hopefully) finish reading the books before the next sale, which they hinted to be sooner than we would think. I might also need to clear up some space by giving/selling some of my books.
