So, I told myself that if the end of the world doesn't happen as scheduled, I'll buy myself a Samsung Galaxy S3 to celebrate, and... I'm still thinking about it.

Post Apocalypse!! [Updated]
It truly was the end of the world, since I've only bought 13 books from the Big Bad Wolf Books Sale!!
Lol... It was expected. As I reminded myself millions of times before, I still have too many books unread and need to tone down my purchases a bit. But I didn't realise I bought 13 books. I was expecting a single-digit.

How far would you go to save a dog?
That seems to the question I asked myself after reading this book. How far would I go to rescue a dog if I was in the author's position?

A Lucky Find
I was visiting the Popular Warehouse Sales at Summit Subang USJ on Sunday, leisurely browsing through the collection of books on sale. While at the English book section, I found this book under the 80%-90% discount tables.

To a New Home
It’s strange to say
this after bringing Tiger back for only two months, but the dog
with a feline name was brought to a new home.

Avoided a potential scam!
On the morning of 5 November 2012, I was driving along Jalan Baiduri SS1/22 heading to Taman Paramount LRT station to catch a train to work. I noticed a motor bike riding very closely behind my car. Its headlight was off. I can see that the rider was a middle-aged Indian with bushy beard. I had a suspicious feeling about this guy.

Where's your common sense?
Surely many people heard
about Lehman Brothers, how this financial powerhouse fell from grace.
But how did it happen? How did one of the top institutions, with
abundant talents under its disposal, left its name in infamy?
Fast production with "Factory Girls"
Finished this thick book
in record time of seven days! I’ve finally managed to regain my
usual free time to read my books. Hopefully I can finish reading more
before the coming BBW sale.

I had enough of mangoes!!
Well, not really. I do enjoy the occasional mango treats. It's just that it took me longer than necessary to finish reading "A Case of Exploding Mangoes", as I had to spend more time looking after the new puppy while no one was home.

Cute and naughty in a small furry package
There's a latest addition to the family on 5 September 2012. No, it's not a baby, not a human one anyway. It's a month-old Miniature Pinscher mix called Tiger.

Sleepy...
There were two power outage last night, one around 12.30am-2.30am, the other around 4.30am-after 5am!! I slept after 11pm and had to wake up at 5.30am, so I had less than three hours of sleep between the outage. I couldn't sleep during the outage as it was too warm without the fans. Now I'm feeling tired & sleepy...

Lee Chong Wei, we're proud of you!!
It was such a close match between Lee Chong Wei and Lin Dan in the Olympics badminton final last night, but luck was not on Lee's side. After three gruelling sets, two points separated Lee (and Malaysia) from the elusive Olympic gold medal.

Fahrenheit 451
Written in 1953, the novel revolves around Guy Montag in a future, dystopian American society where books were banned. Montag was a fireman. Instead of fire-fighting, Montag's job was to actually burn books.

Company Trip 2012: North Sumatra (Day Three)
At 6am local time Nic and I woke up and
washed up before heading to the restaurant for our breakfast. The
breakfast was better than the last, with fried meehoon, fried rice,
chicken porridge, salads, toasts, fruits and coffee. Again, no
creamer or milk was provided for the coffee, which was weird
considering that milk was provided for our coffee the previous night
at the bar. After the breakfast, some of us went to the swimming pool
for more photos of Lake Toba.
Company Trip 2012: North Sumatra (Day Two)
It was 7am local time on 7 April 2012.
All of us were already at the restaurant having breakfast. It was a
nice, clear morning and we hoped there will no more rain that day. We
departed after 7.30am local time. Our next destination was about an
hour drive away, where we will see Sipiso Piso waterfall and the
northern tip of Lake Toba.

Company Trip 2012: North Sumatra (Day One)
My company trip came and ended. While
it was not as exciting as trips to Bali or Taipei of my friends, this
trip was still very memorable and fun for me. It was a good chance to
hang out with my colleagues after spending months and months working.

The Last Seven Months of Anne Frank
Seven different women were interviewed by author Willy Lindwer to create this book, recalling their experiences in the Westerbork transit camp and the Auschwitz, and Bergen-Belsen concentration camps during WWII, as well as their separate meetings with fellow prisoner Anne Frank and her family.

When was the last time you’ve written a letter?
I was posting some comments on one of
my high school classmates’ wall on Facebook, when suddenly I
remembered about how we used to write letters to each other
(actually, we corresponded twice only) and how she used the wrapping
papers she collected from her part-time job to write her letters.

Review: "Read for Your Life"
Ever wonder what's the big deal about reading books? Why would some people spend so much time in this "boring" activity? And why should we be doing the same thing too? Perhaps Read for Your Life can answer those questions for you.

Movie day on Boxing Day
It’s been a long hiatus since my last
update. I’ll just go straight to the point and start with my day on
Boxing Day.
An old friend during my college days
and I went to Sunway Pyramid on Boxing Day. Both of us haven’t
watched any movies since Rio (Yup, it was that long ago), so
we decided to catch two movies, Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol
and Alvin and The Chipmunks: Chipwrecked, on that same day.
